Olivia: What do you want?
Me: A modern 70’s Shag
Olivia: Say no more.
After repeatedly bleaching my hair and dying it rainbow colors, it’s finally time to let my locks rest. The last time I got a hair cut was probably a year ago (YIKES). My ends were dead and my at-home dye job was starting to turn a disgusting green to say the least. So what better way to start a Saturday date with my Mom than getting a new do from my favorite salon.
I’ve been going to The Powder Room for about 2 years now and they always ALWAYS take care of everything from my color to my cut. You go and have an idea of what you want but they work with you to make it 10 times better. I initially just wanted a choppy 70’s cut, and tone my ends so I can get rid of the faded dark brown tint. Olivia showed me some swatches and instead suggested a fun dark red and violet mix to balance out the yellowness of the bleach. She mostly used a razor to give me that fine choppy layer I was looking for and added more body by using a razor to tease my crown.
