The weather in LA is getting nicer and nicer, which means spring is about to be in full swing. Spring is a time for a fresh start so I asked 5 amazing women what they’re doing this season to create space in all areas of their lives.
My version of spring cleaning this year is decluttering! Not being afraid of throwing away things I never use and simplifying to create a cleaner space. I am definitely going to hold on to things that I have a habit of recycling such as clothes or knick knacks, but for the most part, i would like to get rid of things I don’t ever use or need.
My version of spring cleaning this year is literally getting rid of anything that just doesn’t make you happy anymore. Whether that’s a person or last year’s sweater that you wore to death that you wouldn’t be caught dead in anymore. Invest instead on whatever catches your eye at this moment. Life is all about the now’s and should be treated as such. With every passing year, it is important to just become happier. Leave whatever needs to be left behind, behind. That includes clothes or a broken heart. And then throughout the year accumulate new things that make you happy. So buy that new leather jacket that you’ve been eyeing that looks exactly like the other ones you have but a little different. Or buy yourself that plane ticket to that place you’ve always wanted to experience. Because remember, even if you don’t end up enjoying it as much as you thought you would there is always more to come in the future. Spring cleaning is a never ending cycle. It’s about reinventing yourself every year, with the outcome of just being the best version of yourself you can be at that time. Happier, stronger, and fiercer all in your own unique way.
Spring cleaning, to me, is vanilla scented candles burning as a slight breeze blows through my window. It’s watching “almost famous” multiple times a week, just to make sure i’m still focused on the dream. It’s deleting all the photos from my phone (after uploading them to my computer) and starting with a fresh camera roll. Spring cleaning has little to do with actual removal of physical things, but spiritual and emotional ones.
Spring cleaning to me is clearing out my closet. As a blogger, you accumulate a ton of clothes that eventually get unworn. It’s a time to revisit and make room for the new trends surfacing in the industry!
